Celebrate Earth Day with the UC Nature

Celebrate Earth Day with the UC Nature 1

The UC Nature is celebrating Earth Day 2011 with two new television programs. The shows will be broadcast on University of California Television/UCTV starting April 22, Earth Day.

Tour the UC Nature’s field stations and learn what scientists are discovering about California’s rich biodiversity. The two new programs focus on reserves along the coast of Central California:

Wild Signs at Fort Ord Natural Reserve
See Fort Ord Natural Reserve in Monterey County through the eyes of an expert naturalist.

Avid about Acorns
Get a glimpse into the family life of acorn woodpeckers at Hastings Natural History Reserve in Carmel Valley.

Links to previous programs about current and future UC Nature sites are available as well. Mapping the Future covers research into the lush forest ecosystem of Angelo Coast Range Reserve. In the Shadow of White Mountain is an Emmy Award-winning documentary about the hardy scientists who work amid the thin air of White Mountain Research Station in eastern California.
